About Bright Smile Dental Hygene
Founded in 2014 by Brenda Wilson with the vision of offering high quality and affordable dental health care.
At Bright Smile our aim is to give excellent care and service from the moment you walk through our door, and to treat each of our patients as individuals so you receive a unique, tailor-made treatment program for your specific needs.
We are a bijou team made up of our Dental Hygienist Brenda Wilson and two nurse/receptionists who have worked in both Private and NHS Practices for many years.
EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE
At Bright Smile we see a range of patients, from Children needing oral hygiene instructions, children with orthodontic appliances (braces) needing help with the cleaning of their appliances, to patients with complex gum problems needing help to control disease level and those with Dental implants requiring detailed help with their care.
A CARING APPROACH
The treatment I will provide is a perfect addition to your regular dental examinations with your dentist, it is not designed to replace it. I can remove unsightly tooth staining, treat, and advise patients with bleeding gums, treat early tooth decay and so many more treatments.
About Your Dental Hygienist
Brenda Wilson CEB Dip Dental Hygiene
I started my career in dentistry over 25 years ago, initially working as a Dental Nurse then going on to qualifying as a Hygienist at the Eastman Dental Hospital London.
I was a prize-winning student, gaining the most outstanding student of the year award for my year group.
Continuing professional development is particularly important to me and I frequently attend conferences and keep updated reading Dental Journals.
I have an avid interest in periodontal disease and the causes of gum disease and its relationship and its effects on the body’s immune system.
I have been fortunate to work alongside Specialist Periodontists at my time at The International Centre for Excellence in Dentistry at the Eastman and developing knowledge through studies and professional courses.
It is also well known that effective preventive dental treatment can promote a pain free and healthy mouth as well as a nice-looking smile.
So, with this in mind I am opened the first Independent Dental Hygiene Practice here on the Isle of Wight.
Most dental patients will already be aware of the feel good factor and dental health benefits of seeing a good Hygienist regularly, but for those that don’t, you should know that the benefits are many, and the confidence and general feel good factor you come away with are definitely worth the visit.

Brenda is registered with the British Association of Dental Hygienist and Therapist, General Dental Council, British Society of Periodontology, Care Quality Commission and fully insured with the Dental Defense Union.
Our Services
New Patient consultation
At the initial appointment, the hygienist will undertake a thorough medical history and dental history.
Gum disease treatments
(Per quadrant/arch) Gum disease may increase your risk of all kinds of other health complications, including stroke, diabetes and heart disease.
Teeth Whitening
Professional teeth whitening can hugely improve the appearance of your smile by simply lightening the shade of your natural teeth. Your smile is important.
Scale & Polish (routine)
We can remove the accumulation of calculus or tartar along the gum line by scaling it away using a combination of ultra-sonic scaler, hand scalers and a polishing handpiece.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride is a natural mineral that builds strong teeth and prevents cavities. It’s been an essential oral health treatment for decades.
